Clint & Dana Schmelzle, Owners

Clint has over 30 years in the Automotive & Towing Industry. Clint's commitment to quality and attention to detail has been the foundation for S&S Automotive & Towing, Inc since its inception in 1997. Clint loves taking care of the cars of the community. He prides himself on being fair, honest and reputable. Many of the cars he is working on today, he has worked on those customer's parents and grandparents vehicles for years. He has been married to the love of his life Dana, for over 20 years and they have three boys Austin, Garrett & Tanner. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing & power-sports with his boys.

Along with Clint, Dana has been here since the beginning. Dana works full time outside the business but manages most accounting functions of the business and the Shop's marketing after hours. Dana has over 25 years in the Automotive profession in not only the capacity of accounting and marketing but also automotive sales, service writing, and customer service. When Dana is not working, she is usually found in the stands at the games of their sons. Dana enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking care of the family puppy, Millie.

Austin Schmelzle, Service Advisor

Austin has been in the shop literally since the week he was born. He has always had an interest in automotive repair working alongside his Dad in the shop and his Mom on the business side in the office. Austin graduated from Pittsburg State University with an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology. Austin holds many automotive certifications and enjoys working on all makes & models. Austin’s willingness to learn and attention to detail is what we value most. Currently, Austin is filling the role of Service Advisor. This position is great for Austin because he still gets to visit with the customer and help relay their automotive concerns to the technicians. Megan Voet, Service Advisor

Megan is a friendly face new to the automotive industry, but with a wealth of customer service experience under her belt. Originally from the Home, Kansas area, she recently made the move to the Herkimer community. When she's not diving into the world of cars, Megan enjoys spending quality time with her 8-year-old son, exploring the outdoors, lending a hand on the farm, and cuddling up with her beloved dogs and cats. Megan is eager to learn and grow in the automotive industry, and she's excited to help you with all your vehicle needs.

Eric Bergman, Auto Technician

Eric was born & raised in Seneca. He attended Manhattan Area Technical School in Manhattan and studied Automotive Collision Repair. Eric has been with S&S Automotive & Towing, Inc. for over 15 years. Eric would be considered the Front End Specialist at S&S Automotive. Eric is an Auto Service Excellence Certified Technician and also a Mobile Air Conditioning Society Certificate holder. Working on front ends requires being a good listener of not only the car but the customer. Eric Prides himself on being able to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot even the hardest front end issues. Eric also is on the 24 hour Towing & Service team, and often times you will see Eric on the side of the road helping stranded motorists with their roadside issues.

In his spare time, Eric is usually found riding around on his Harley Davidson. He also enjoys hunting, fishing and bowling.

Nick Milroy, Auto Technician

Nick joined the S&S team in July of 2022. Nick is from Hiawatha and dad to a 140 pound Daniff named Hemi. He started out 10 years ago in the tire and alignment field; and has been a mechanic for the last 3 years. He is a total Mopar guy and his past times revolve around his Charger.

Max Nevels, Auto Technician

Max Nevels serves as our porter and apprentice technician. Residing in Hiawatha, he has been a valued member of our team for more than a year. Max's passion lies in automotive work, and he cherishes moments spent with his family. His interests include camping, fishing, and he is a proud father of three daughters.

Wyatt Clear, Porter

Wyatt joined the crew in 2020. He has a background in construction and shipping and receiving. Wyatt is an important addition to the shop, he chases parts, helps the techs, maintains the building and operates the tow trucks. The best part about Wyatt is his sense of humor, he likes to have a great time and keeps everyone's spirits up. In his spare time, Wyatt is having fun as a single dad with his two precious kids, he loves all sports, home improvement projects and anything outdoors. /p>

Dawnn Henry, Business Office Manager

Dawnn Henry joined us part time in Jan of 2022 as the part time bookkeeper. She will continue her bookkeeping duties as well as doing all Financing Agreements, Human Resources, Receiving Clerk and Intoxalock Support. She has over 30 years accounting and customer service experience behind her and will be a terrific addition to our team. She is from Centralia, KS and is married to Keith Henry. They have 3 sons and 1 grandson. She enjoys reading, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Garrett Schmelzle, Shop Assistant

Garrett has been so actively involved in sports that he hasn't had much time to help at the shop, but he isn't afraid of work, he has been helping around the shop behind the scenes for years. You might see Garrett on the tow crew or up in the office. Garrett graduated in 2022, and is now a Business Major student at Washburn University! Go Bods! If his parents would guess, they would assume something in sales. He may end up back here, but because he is full of adventure, he will most likely travel and check out what the world has to offer before making the decision to be full time in the family business. Garrett buys and sells cars, so call him, he may have a good deal for you! Garrett loves motorsports, basketball, football and fishing.

Tanner Schmelzle, Shop Assistant

Tanner has been tinkering in the shop since before he could walk, you will most likely find him on the tow crew or helping the guys with anything they need. Tanner will graduate high school in 2025 and hasn't decided his future plans yet. Tanner loves helping people, he throws hay for several farmers and loves hunting, fishing and motorsports.
